Challenge
Our client, Fugro, required a full strip and refurbishment of a Workclass ROV Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS) to upgrade their system to an ‘as new’ status for an upcoming project.
Solution
Our purpose-built workshop and decades of experience within this area made offloading and stripping down the A-frame and winch very straightforward. We measured, re-made and pressure-tested all hydraulic hoses in-house before assembling them, and returned the main system components to their manufacturer for inspection and repair.
The control panel was in such poor condition that it was deemed beyond economical repair, so we designed, manufactured and tested a new panel in-house. Once all the equipment was rebuilt, we moved it onto our test bed for full system function testing, and load testing of the Winch and A-Frame. The umbilical was then spooled onto the winch under tension, following our client’s procedure.
