Brimmond cements reputation as ‘Great place to work’ in 30th anniversary year

Following on from its initial accreditation in 2024, the Kintore-based business has once again been certified by Great Place To Work® UK, with 91% of employees confirming that it is a great place to work – 37% higher than the national average of 54%.

The ‘Great Place to Work’ certificate is awarded to companies which create a positive, inclusive and engaging employee environment, and have distinguished themselves in a competitive recruitment market. Crucially, the prestigious certification is based entirely on what current employees say about their experience in the workplace.

The independent survey revealed that:

• 100% of the team feel safe at work
• 100% of staff feel a sense of pride in what they accomplish
• 100% of the team feel they are treated fairly
• 100% of staff think that customers would rate the service as ‘excellent’
• 100% of staff believe that Management has a clear view of where the organisation is going and how to get there.

The accreditation comes as Brimmond celebrates 30 years in business, after delivering the strongest financial performance in its history, while continuing to expand its international presence despite a challenging industrial landscape.

Brimmond boasts a growing group of loyal, long-standing employees, reflecting the company’s success in recruiting and retaining talent in a competitive marketplace. One such long-serving team member is Senior Hydraulic Technician, Ronnie Grant, who recently celebrated his 20th work anniversary with the business.

Managing Director of Brimmond, Tom Murdoch, welcomed this re-accreditation saying,

“The Great Place to Work accreditation holds special significance because it is based entirely on how our own people feel about working here.  For me, that makes it particularly meaningful.  How our team feel about coming to work every day is one of the most important measures of whether we are doing things properly as a business.  We have always tried to keep things simple at Brimmond.  If you work hard, treat people well and take pride in what you do, there will be opportunities to develop and progress, and we will do our best to look after you along the way. While we are always looking for ways to improve and evolve, having 91% of our team say Brimmond is a great place to work is something I am genuinely proud of.

One result that stands out to me is that 100% of our team feel safe at work.  We operate in an industry where our people can be working offshore, in potentially hazardous environments, or around large equipment in a busy workshop.  To have every member of the team say they feel safe is a strong reflection of how seriously we take safety across the business.  After 30 years in business, I think this says a lot about the culture we have built, and more importantly, the people who have built it.

Brimmond currently employs 51 people and expects its workforce to grow to more than 55 employees in the next six months. Recruitment is currently live for a number of roles including: senior electrical technician, mechanical or hydraulic technician and project engineer.
